The third trimester is full of changes in the body and also the baby is more active now. You can feel the baby kick you, respond to your voice and also move when you eat something hot. It is a beautiful experience and that is when a woman feels proud of her pregnancy. Also, a woman is waiting to see her baby being born and holding it. The expectation of the baby to come into the world becomes more evident only during the 3rd trimester.

Sometimes, unfortunate incidents do happen to women and the baby during the 3rd trimester. It is possible that the baby is born prematurely and then was not able to survive because it was too early for the baby to come out and the lungs may have not fully developed. This is one of the main reasons why babies do not make it into the world.

However, science and technology is very advanced today and even premature babies have a hope for survival. They are kept in an environment which resembles the mother’s womb in everyway. The doctors keep the baby in the intensive care unit and neo natal units and keep a very close watch on them. The baby can be harmed if the mother has experienced some kind of trauma like an accident or some kind of mental agony. If a mother neglects herself during the 3rd trimester then she could harm the baby too. However, when an event occurs where both the baby and the mother are in danger, the doctors make every attempt to save the mother first.
