What Is A Stillbirth ?

A stillbirth is a result of a natural birthing process experienced by a woman but the bay is not alive when it is born. This kind of birth can take place at any time after the 20th week of pregnancy and it is a scary thought for most women who know about it.

In a stillbirth, the labor pain occurs may be on the right time or much before the full term pregnancy. It is only after the baby is born and it does not breather do the doctors realize that it is a stillbirth. It is a very disappointing phase to be in and a hurtful one too. Women tend to think them are having a baby and when they realize the baby is not alive, it can be very devastating for them. They can get discouraged with the whole idea of pregnancy if they come to know of it. The whole process of pregnancy is full of expectations of the new born baby. In a stillbirth all those expectations come crashing down.

Doctors do not hold an explanation as to why stillbirths happen. It could be as a result of a trauma within the womb that could have occurred without the knowledge of the mother or it could be due to an infection. There are no proper explanations as to why stillbirths happen. In a stillbirth, more often than not the baby is completely developed, but just does not makes it into the world alive. They are delivered through the normal birthing process where a mother goes through labor pains and has a vaginal delivery.
