Is brown cervical mucus during first trimester normal ?

             There is nothing more scarier than a miscarriage for a pregnant woman. So, it is a common reaction to freak out when you find brown mucus on your underwear. Although bleeding or discharge can be the sign of miscarriage, it is not always the case. In fact, it is not uncommon for new mother to have brown discharge during the first trimester.

               

                What is this brown discharge? It may be older blood remains in your body. Originally, the fetus needs the blood for protection. As the pregnancy advance, the fetus no longer needs it. So your body is getting rid of it. In most cases, it is perfectly normal.

                Nevertheless, it is a good idea to get a doctor check up. Your doctor can give you quick physical exam to put your mind at ease. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry.
