Sadistic PD (personality disorder), commonly known as sadism, is a common behavioral disorder, characterized by long-lasting, dangerous patterns of maladaptive, motivated behavior, wherein the sadistic individual derives pleasure by inflicting pain and suffering on others. A ruthless, aggressive, devious, and mortifying behavior shown to other people is the main feature that sets sadism apart from all other personality disorders.
Following are the six major sadism symptoms seen in individuals before, after, or during puberty:
A sadist is least concerned about anyone around him as well as for animals and seemingly derives pleasure and contentment by harming, beating, or humiliating them. Loutishness, offensiveness, and hostility are common features that distinguish the social relationships of a sadist. They exhibit a distinctive, rigid behavior pattern that remains unswerving in all social and personal situations, thereby significantly deteriorating the social and occupational functioning of an individual. In short, sadism is a kind of a personality disorder wherein the patient feels amused by inflicting physical or psychological distress on other individuals and gains pleasure or sexual arousal by threatening and dominating others.
