Antisocial personality disorder is considered to be a chronic illness in which the individual does not adhere to certain basic social norms expected from him and has a disregard for the right and wrong. Victims of APD do not take any responsibility of their actions and exhibit and eccentric and aggressive behavior.

APD can be further classified into different kinds of personality disorders

Eccentric disorders:

• Paranoid disorder: These people always suspect and mistrust others and hence find it difficult to maintain relationships.
• Schizoid disorder: They find it a waste of time in socializing with others. They do not seek attention or approval from others in their actions.
• Schizotypal Disorder: They exhibit odd behavior as well as thinking. Their mannerisms and dress sense is bizarre.

Erratic behavior disorders:

• Borderline Disorder: These individuals are not quite stable or consistent in their thinking and hence often resort to sudden outbursts. They are highly insecure of being rejected or abandoned.
• Histrionic Disorder: They are highly dramatic, exhibit exaggerated emotions and constantly seek attention.
• Narcissistic Personality Disorder: They constantly seek attention and do not like to socialize in occasions where they are not given importance. They lack empathy and are insensitive to other’s needs.

Anxiety-related disorders:

• Avoidant Personality Disorder: They have an extremely negative approach and a lot of social inhibitions. They prefer to be in jobs where they need not interact much with the society. They constantly fear rejection.
• Dependent Personality Disorder: They are highly dependant on others and expect constant reassurance.
• Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder: They are generally workaholics who are strict about rules and orderliness.
