How To Heal Bruises ?
Bruises are skin injuries caused by a blow or being hit by something hard. The rubbing or scratching of the skin surface against a rough surface also causes it. In the process, the blood from the blood vessels leak into the tissues and a bruise comes up on the skin. A bruise might take quite some time in healing. But, the right way of treating it can speed up the time of healing.
Here are some tips on how to heal bruises:
- Applying ice reduces the swelling and increases the flow of blood to the affected area. Along with it, you can also use a medicated cream like a Vick’s Vapor Rub to deal with the swelling.
- Applying bandages would cover the bruises against any infection to quicken the healing process. It will also remove away the small particles in blood. You can use Witch Hazel that is not only an astringent, it also has anti-inflammatory properties and it is an antiseptic.
- Apply crushed parsley on the affected area to help recovery against bruise. It will help in reducing the damaged blood vessels and also against the scars from the bruise.
- Arnica tincture, a homeopathic remedy, can also help you in a long way as it is anti-septic, anti-inflammatory and also acts as a pain reliever. Just put a few drops of it in a cupful of water. Soak a piece of cloth in the tincture and apply the same to the bruise. This can be done as a part of your bandage process.
- One oral remedy is drinking one glass of water with a little bit of apple cider. This will promote blood circulation to the upper layers of the skin and enable the trapped blood from clearing away from the bruise.
