Ultracet Side Effects

Most people who take Ultracet can tolerate the medication with hardly any side effects.  Even if some mild side effects do occur, they usually do not require treatment. However, the medication still has side effects that can manifest themselves. Here are some of the Ultracet side effects.

Some general side effects are constipation and drowsiness. This can affect around 6 percent of the patients. About 4 percent might experience increased sweating. Diarrhea, nausea and loss of appetite can strike around 3 percent of Ultracet users. Another 3 percent might feel dizzy. Only around 2 percent might develop prostate problems. Insomnia and dry mouth might affect another 2 percent of patients.

Fatigue, quivering, headaches, hot flashes, nervousness, abdominal pain, heartburn, anxiety, gas and vomiting can also be possible side effects. Sometimes, the person may feel unusually happy or euphoric. These side effects are, of course, quite mild.

Some severe side effects include seizures, depression, severe constipation, hallucinations and loss of consciousness. Sometimes, the liver might get damaged, and give rise to jaundice and stomach pain. The culprit for liver damage is the acetaminophen present in the Ultracet. The skin might also break out into hives. It can itch, and there might be swelling. The throat and mouth might get swollen, and there might be difficulty in breathing and the person might start to wheeze.

There are some rare side effects also. A person might develop vertigo, migraines, fainting, anemia and high or low blood pressure. There might be a ringing in the ears.  The person could have difficulty in swallowing, lose weight, suffer from memory loss or become impotent.

If you experience any of these side effects, you should immediately inform your doctor about it.
