However, Mobic is also popular for its side effects. It has not suited for people who have pre-existing conditions. It becomes difficult to treat them using this drug.
Mobic falls under the non steroidal category of drugs. It is not a narcotic either but is available only on prescription. The most common kind of problems that Mobic causes as side effects are related to the heart and stomach.
People who have suffered from stroke or heart attack should not take Mobic. The active ingredient Meloxicam present in Mobic has perforation capabilities. It can cause holes in the stomach, and also congestion in the heart. Mobic stops the body from making a particular kind of hormone that is responsible for causing inflammation of muscles and tissue. However, this hormone also has other functions in the body. The hormone, called prostaglandin, is mainly responsible for acting on immune responses. It is a part of the immune function. When a medicine like Mobic blocks the hormone, it collects as a residual. The residual hormone may have negative effects on the concentration of blood. It can cause congestion in the heart and also have a role to play in the narrowing of blood vessels. It may eventually lead to heart arrest or cardiac attacks.
