Cymbalta And Adverse Side Effects

Cymbalta is used to treat depression and mood swings. It is used as an anti-depressant medication. Several medications have side effects, especially the ones that deal with problems like depression. Not everyone who uses Cymbalta has reported having side effects. Also, most of the side effects are minor and they go away after some time of using these medications.

The side effects of Cymbalta have been mainly studied using clinical trials. A certain group of people who were already taking this medication were studied.

There were some common set of symptoms that were reported. Some of them are as follows:

• Nausea in the mornings or late at nights
• Drowsiness through out the day
• Recurrent headaches
• Dryness in the mouth
• Extreme sleeplessness and insomnia
• Diarrhea
• Tiredness
• Lack of appetite
• Initial weakness
• Sweatiness
• Sore throat or other possible infections
• Cough
• Decrease in sexual drive
• Weight loss
• Hot flashes
• Vertigo
• Muscle pain
• Abdominal cramps

          All the side effects do not occur in the same patient. People experience only partial, or sometimes no side effects at all. Even though the medicine may show some negative effects initially, they may go away in a few weeks of time. All doctors inform patients to allow some adjustment time to the medication. However, if any of the symptoms is severe and you are not able to cope with pain, then they should contact the doctor immediately. Sometimes, side effects increase in magnitude when you are using other medications along with Cymbalta. The doctor may change the medication to a more suitable one, or you may be asked to stop the other medications.
