Many people suffer from warts and look for ways to get rid of fast. Thankfully, there are home remedies that allow fast removal of warts. Also, these remedies are inexpensive and make use of ingredients that are easily available in a home and easy to use.
One of the most popular ways of removing a wart is by using a clove of garlic. You can take a garlic glove and grate a little bit at the bottom. Apply it directly on the wart for a week. The wart will disappear after that. However, garlic has a very pungent smell and if you do not mind the odor, this is one of the fastest home wart removal remedies. Garlic has natural chemicals that seep into the wart and kill it.
You can also use a duct tape on the wart. You need a duct tape and pumice stone. Cut a small piece of the duct tape, slightly larger than the wart and stick it on the wart. Leave the duct tape on the wart for a week. After a week remove the duct tape and rub the pumice stone to gently scrape of the remains of the wart.
Rubbing the wart with a banana or potato peel removes it. It may take 2 weeks for the wart to completely disappear.
Cryotherapy is another way to remove the warts. The process of freezing the warts with liquid nitrogen is one of the ways to remove the warts. However, liquid nitrogen is used only in the doctor’s office. Cryotherapy kits are also available off the shelf for wart removal. However, they are not as effective as cryotherapy performed by the doctor. Several companies including Doctor Scholl’s and Wartner sell them.
The home cryotherapy kit consists of a freezing chemical and applicators. The applicator resembles an ear bud. The applicator needs to be attached to the spray can and is pressed against the wart for about 20 seconds. The chemical is sprayed directly on the wart and it turns white. There may be an itch or a sting along with little pain. If it is a plantar wart, you may need to keep it pressed for 40 seconds.
After the applicator is removed, the skin thaws and the stinging subsides. After some days blisters can form on the wart. The wart will fall off in 10 to 14 days from the day of application. Each applicator is used only one time. Warts that do not fall off may require one more application. However, the manufacturers do not recommend it to be used for more than 3 times. Most warts go away after two weeks of treatment.
