Scientifically termed as candidaisis, thrush is a kind of fungal infection that appears in the regions of mouth in the form of white creamy lesions. These lesions are quite painful and have the tendency to spread id not treated in time. Thrush occurs because of the growth of a distinct type of fungal species known as Candida albicans.
Thrush can occur in any part of the human body including skin, digestive tracts and even the genitals. Those babies who are being breast fed this kind of fungal infection can also be seen in the mother’s breast or in the mouth of the baby.
Although it is not life threatening disease but people who possess a weak immune system might get affected severely especially those who are either suffering from AIDS or cancer. People think that it cannot be cured completely and it reoccurs but this is a wrong notion. Thrush can be very well treated and if treated in the prescribed manner can never reoccur again.
Curing thrush is not a very difficult process. If the condition is not very serious and the infection is at the initial stage, it can be treated naturally by consuming curd. However, if the problem reoccurs after natural treatment, then the root cause needs to be ascertained first. The candida yeasts are actually present naturally in the human body and never cause any harm to the body. But, if it multiplies enormously without sufficient reason, then the concern begins. Such a condition usually occurs when the person’s immune system is not strong enough. Thrush should never be left untreated with a belief that it will go away after two to three weeks. It must be treated with acidophilic tablets or with anti-fungal tablets and injections.
