White creamy lesions that occur in certain parts of the mouth are called as oral thrush. These are caused due to fungus infection. Oral thrush is quite irritating and cause burning sensation in the mouth especially when somebody affected with it eats something. Sometimes people having oral thrush may not feel the sensation just below the spots where the lesions have occurred and tend to scratch them off. But, if it is scratched, it may cause further bleeding and the wound will heal after many days.
Oral thrush in infants is very difficult to treat and therefore the parents must wait more for its complete cure. Remember never neglect these thrushes in the infant and doctors advice is must when an infant gets affected with this. Oral thrush in its early stages is not a very serious concern but the worry can begin if the thrush does not get healed within at least two weeks from its commencement. When the problem persists, a treatment from the expert doctor is always advisable. The doctor usually prescribes anti-fungal medicines that are available in the form of pastilles which can be very easily sucked or can be held in the mouth for some time and then can be swallowed with ease. If the condition still does not improve, then the patient can be treated with anti-fungal pills and in advance treatments these anti-fungal preparations can be injected intravenously.
Well you can come to know that the thrushes have finally left, if there is no discomfort inside the mouth and you are able to consume all kinds of food comfortably.
