Symptoms Of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of autoimmune disorder. Autoimmune disorders are caused in the body when its immunity system starts to dysfunction, that is, makes mistakes in differentiating a foreign element in the body from its own components. Then the white blood cells involved in protection of the human body start attacking their own elements.

This rheumatoid arthritis is caused when the immunity system mistakes the lining of the various joints of the body for foreign, toxic elements and starts attacking the place. This causes inflammation, swelling and a lot of pain in the joints.

There are a few symptoms and pointers indicating rheumatoid arthritis in its initial stage, depending on how much the tissues near the joints have been inflamed. Moreover, this pain and inflammation come and go irregularly. Thus, the symptoms may show for a short time initially if the pain lasts a short span. Thus, the patient may tend to neglect the signs and thus, not seek help from an expert. However, when the inflammation is in active state, symptoms like fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, pain in the muscles and joints, fever and stiffness may begin to show. Among these, pain or stiffness of the muscle joints may show up in the mornings when the victim has woken up from a prolonged period of idleness (sleeping).

Further, if an intense inflammation occurs, the joints affected tend to become swollen, red, tender and painful. During this time, the patient usually applies ice on the area to bring down the pain along with the heat generated there, temporarily. However, a visit to the doctor is must if anyone starts experiencing symptoms like these as rheumatoid arthritis can become a lifelong illness if not treated early.
