This could also lead to severe cough and cold.

However, if the patient gets timely medical help depending on the symptoms, it becomes manageable. For a normal person, with a good immune system, walking pneumonia goes away on its own.

Antibiotics are prescribed for people who have walking pneumonia. The symptoms become manageable after administering antibiotics. However, tradition pneumonia cannot be treated using any drugs.

A person with walking pneumonia needs to take rest but need not go completely on bed rest. They can go about their daily routine without getting affected much. However, if they are taking antibiotics, it is recommended that they drink lot of fluids. Once they start with their medications, they should finish the course for the infection to be controlled.

There are some things a person can do for getting faster relief from walking pneumonia. Maintain hygiene by washing hands regularly so that the infection does not spread to others in the family.

Consult a doctor immediately if you are experiencing the symptoms of walking pneumonia. Once you start taking antibiotics, the infection comes under control and cannot spread as the bacterium is weaker.
