How Many People Died Of Plague ?

Plague is a very dangerous disease and everyone is aware of the fact that it is capable of destructing several lives just at one go. The disease is known to be very rampant during the seventeenth century. In England people still read such instances of plague very anxiously and the time when it had actually outburst within the state was a complete chaos throughout.

During the period, 1979-1993, nearly 16,312 cases of human plague and around 1,668 plague deaths occurred across 20 countries and were reported to the WHO (World Health Organization). The United States reported around 227 cases of plague during the same period.

At that point of time, plague was considered as the most dangerous and feared disease among all. Large numbers of people were losing their lives every year due to the same reasons. The outbreak of plague in Europe during the 1300s had actually resulted in destruction of around twenty million people at once. This incident is still afresh in minds of people belonging to the state. It was so terrifying just because of the fact that it was spreading swiftly. Victims were losing their lives within a few days of agony resultant due from infected swellings and fevers.

It is known to spread at a very horrifying rate and was capable of ravaging the entire state within a few weeks. The worst case scenario included the fact that there was no treatment measure available at that point of time as people before were not at all aware of the disease. Though there were several plague hospitals built by the authorities of such regions, then also the destruction could not be compensated neither prevented. It was this disease that had forced several people to move out of their homes but still could not save their lives and ultimately died out of the same reasons.
