Lead Poisoning Symptoms

Lead poisoning is a type of slow poisoning and happens at a very slow rate. It does not cause any symptoms in the human body until the poisoning has become excessive. One of the lead poisoning causes is slow but continuous exposure to lead over an extended period of time. So, it happens like a process where the poisoning itself occurs over a long period of time. Lead also accumulates in the body and when the levels of lead rise to a great extent, then the body starts experiencing severe symptoms of poisoning.

Some of the severe symptoms of lead poisoning are organ failure like kidneys and liver. Some of the other organs affected by lead poisoning are the central nervous system, the digestive tract and also renal system.

Stomach aches and cramping are one of the first symptoms foe lads poisoning. Also, the person experiences low attention levels, and also suffers from constipation and diarrhea. Nausea and vomiting and headaches are also common symptoms. Over a period of time the person being exposed to excessive amounts of lead will feel weakness in their muscles and also find it difficult to concentrate on tasks.

Lead poisoning is also associated with behavior problems with the children and they often have learning issues. ADD can also be caused due to exposure to lead. It hampers mental growth in children and also causes weakness in them by causing appetite loss. Severe lead poisoning can lead to coma and paralysis or even death.
