Keloids are a kind of infection that has no cure. It cannot be cured completely and only the effects of it can be minimized. Another form of treatment for it is applying compression bandages for a long period of time and it reduces the size and also its negative effects. The compression bandages are applied for at least a period of one year. It also prevents newer scars from occurring. Radiation therapy is another form of treatment that is applied and electron radiation is used for the treatment.

So far surgery has was deemed the best for of treatment. Monthly, the person is given cortisone injections which help to improve the skins quality.
