Heart attack is a recurring condition and every time a heart attack recurs it can be more severe than the previous one. There are several signs and symptoms of a heart attack that can build up gradually in a person. Some of them are as follow: (See Reference 1)
If all these symptoms occur together then it is possible that you are having a heart attack and you should contact the emergency room as soon as possible. Call 911 without any delay. However, when the heart is under stress, these symptoms can build up slowly. You can experience one symptom at a time. Heart is a very hardworking muscle of the body and therefore it is very strong also. so it is possible that it can take a lot of stress until it finally gives up the symptoms of a heart attack are not immediate and they actually build up gradually in your body. You may experience these symptoms one at a time in your daily course of life. Also, the symptoms of heart attack do not follow any specific course. For instance, take a symptom like heartburn. Heartburn is similar to acidity. You will experience acidity or heartburn symptoms when you eat spicy food. In the case of a heart attack, a person may experience heartburn even if he or she has not consumed spicy food. However, people get confused and start thinking that they are suffering from heartburn.
The only way to diagnose the symptoms of heart attack is by being extremely careful and observant and at the same time. If you experience heartburn without any reasons, then you have a cause of concern. Unexplained giddiness or dizziness is another classic symptom of heart attacks. It is not necessary that you will experience a heart attack the same day you experience this symptom. It is juts an indicator that the heart is not able to function properly. There are two things that the heart need to function efficiently and that is blood and oxygen. When it is not receiving these two main components, then you start feeling the symptoms. However, after crossing the age of 40 whether it is a man or women who experience these symptoms they should get an EKG test done. It is the perfect test that will identify the problem with the heart. So you may be able to avoid a heart attack by seeking medical attention at the right time. A heart attack will only occur when you have ignored yourself completely. Once you recognize that the heart is not functioning properly, you will need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One of the first things you need to do is start exercising daily. This keeps the heart healthy and also cuts down the plaque and cholesterol that cause a heart attack mainly. (See Reference 1)
Dizziness and giddiness can be caused due to various things. However, in the case of a heart attack, this is a very prominent symptom. A person might feel constantly dizzy even if they have eaten well. This is an indicator that the heart is not able to pump the blood required by the brain and heart is why you are feeling dizzy all the time. Also, if you have several symptoms that occur at the same time like dizziness, pain in your shoulders and neck and paralyzed kind of feeling, then you should see the doctor right away.
