HPV or the humanpapillomavirus does not exhibit any clear signs or symptoms of its presence for a long time. However, when it is present in the body it causes various conditions and then one can be sure that they have the HPV virus. It is a sexually transmitted virus. HPV is one of the most common types of viruses to be found, but it is invisible and exists without causing symptoms directly.

If the HPV is causing health problems, then some of them would be:

Symptoms of penile cancer, like changes in the color of the skin. Like the skin on the penis will start thickening or build up abnormal tissue. There can be sores on the penis and sometimes these sores are painless. In advanced stages it becomes sore and starts to bleed.

Signs of cancer of the anus would include anal bleeding, constant itching and discharge. It could also be painful while passing stools. In addition, there can be swollen lymph nodes in the groin or the anal area. Suddenly you may notice an abnormal change in the bowel movements and also the shape of the stool.

However, in both the cases of the cancer there will be no symptoms usually in the initial two stages. Only when the cancer has advanced to the third or fourth stage, it starts showing all these symptoms in a severe manner. At that time there is a high possibility that the tumor could have spread to several other parts of the body.
