Early Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia, also commonly known as the chronic pain disorder, soft tissue rheumatism, or fibrositis, is a rare syndrome characterized by generalized tenderness and pain in the patient’s musculoskeletal system. It is found in just 2 percent of the human population, with a large percentage of the patients being women.

Unfortunately, no cure as such has yet been established for this disease. Therefore, it becomes all the more important to report early symptoms and signs of fibromyalgia to a doctor at the earliest. If these early symptoms are ignored by the patient, they may lead to a whole host of other symptoms, making it nearly impossible to treat the disease. Owing to the extensive research being done on fibromyalgia, doctors are now able to diagnose the disease based on the early warning signs that have been observed commonly in female patients.

Some of the most commonly observed early symptoms of fibrositis or fibromyalgia are as follows:

Thus, if you begin to experience sudden stiffness in your muscles and a strange feeling of restlessness every time you wake up in the morning, you must get the condition diagnosed immediately. Some patients find it difficult to move their neck, head, and/or back when they wake up from sleep. The generalized pain in muscles that the patient experiences on the onset of the disease might subside after a few days, but is highly likely to recur. Similar condition is observed sometimes in many people when they end up sleeping in a wrong posture or on an improper pillow/mattress. However, if stiffness and pain in muscles continue to happen quite often even after changing the pillows and the mattresses, you must get in touch with your doctor immediately. Similarly, if your body shows any of the aforementioned symptoms or early warning signs of fibromyalgia quite frequently, be sure to ask your doctor about the fibromyalgia diagnosis.

Fibromyalgia is characterized by generalized, excruciating pain in the body of the patient. However, general anesthesia that can relieve this pain tends to worsen the fibromyalgia symptoms. Patients of fibromyalgia are generally prone to infections, severe depression, and stress. More..
