Uterine fibroids are a kind of a non-cancerous growth, which is likely to develop within or outside the uterus of a woman. They may even develop from the normal uterus muscle cells, which start growing on abnormal basis. But, as the cells keep on increasing in size, they may turn into tumor. Uterine fibroids and pain are considered to be interlinked as irrespective of its developmental location this disease brings about severe pain to the patient. Thus, if the pain remains unaffected for a longer period of time, the women experiencing such a pain must get in contact with their physicians as soon as possible.

There are several tests that help in diagnosing uterine fibroids and they include tests like ultrasound, MRI, uterine biopsy and hysteroscopy.
