Brittle bone disease is a common name that has been given to Osteogenesis imperfecta, which being a scientific term appears quite complex. Thus, people prefer calling it as brittle bone disease. It is generally a disease that results in fractures during the childhood though it may also cause such fractures in adults.
This is considered to be a genetic disease as it is caused by the abnormalities of genes. These genes are responsible for the production of collagen which is a kind of protein and is very necessary for the strength of the bones.

It is made sure that these fractures heal as early as possible. As such there is no medication available for brittle bone disease.
