Some of the properties of the HIV virus are compared to the SIV, which is Simian Immunodeficiency Virus. They both had high similarities in their properties. The SIV is a virus that is found in monkeys and apes. Also, the genetic structure of both the viruses is very similar to each other. The SIV virus is the reason to cause AIDS in monkeys. Also most of the illnesses that occurred were related to the immune system. Also, there was no information on how much time the disease takes to show symptoms. However, the exact origin of the AIDS virus is unknown. Event today scientists do not know from where and how the virus came. However, the virus found a home in human beings and it keeps transferring from one person to another sexually. Also, the studies revealed that AIDS by itself showed no visible symptoms.
