What Is The Difference Between Hiv Aids ?

HIV stands for Human Immune Deficiency Virus. This virus attacks the T cells of the immune system. Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome or AIDS is a disease that is caused by HIV virus. It is also the advanced stage of the virus attack. There is quite some difference between the HIV and AIDS. HIV is a virus, while AIDS is the disease brought by the virus.

AIDS is a life long condition. Once infected by HIV virus the person has to live with this condition for a life time. HIV virus attacks a person’s immune system but does not stay in the body for a long time. HIV is what causes the AIDS syndrome. Some people can be infecting width the HIV virus and still not get AIDS. It is not a definitive thing that all people who get infected with HIV have to get AIDS.

People with AIDS fall ill repeatedly and their immune system dies over period of time. The virus gradually weakens the immune system day after day making them susceptible to all kinds of diseases. Eventually one of the diseases will kill them. Even if people take immune system boosters through food and medicines they still cannot live because the immune system cannot be strengthened again because of the virus attack. AIDS is a killer disease and once it affects the person the longevity of their life is gradually reduced. HIV virus can be transmitted sexually or a close contact with a person who is suffering from AIDS. It can also be passed on through syringes and other surgical instruments.
