Teenagers mean girls or boys who are in the age group of 13 to 19 years. Their body goes through several changes during this period, both physically and mentally.
However, physical growth kind of slows down and there is more mental growth. Also, a teenager’s brain during this time develops based on its utility. This age is also critical to watch out for early signs of obesity and anorexia on the other hand.Kids need concentration power to study at school; they need to be active in sports; and also should have a presentable figure. So, the best way to achieve that is through a proper diet.
Help teenagers from falling into pitfalls like eating an unhealthy diet like fast food and junk food. These kinds of food habits are typical pitfalls for obesity. A child at this age should have at least five vegetables and three fruits everyday. Because fruits and vegetables have most of the vitamins and minerals required. They get proteins and carbohydrates from breads and meat. Protein is extremely important for brain development, and it is very important they get plenty of it everyday. Protein is available in milk, red meat, white meat and eggs. So, you can change their menus using a combination of any of these meats and milk products. Yoghurt is also a rich source of protein.
Vitamins C, A and B12 are very important for children at this age. They together increase the resistance in the body and also promote brain development. A good nutritious breakfast, wholesome lunch and a light dinner is the best diet plan for teenagers.
