Foot Odor And Natural Remedies
Foot odor, also known as bromhidrosis is traced to bacteria that find moist and warm feet, socks and shoes the perfect place to breed. Thousands of sweat glands on the soles of the feet produce perspiration composed of water, sodium chloride, minerals and fats that are the end products of the body’s metabolism.
However repugnant, the remedy to foot odor is relatively simple. It merely requires ingredient that are readily available, most in any household.
Some of the home remedies that can cure foot odor are:
- Bathe the feet several times a day but ensure cracks do not begin to appear.
- Use a deodorizing powder with aluminium chloride hexahydrate as an ingredient.
- Baking soda -- Deodorize shoes with 1 to 2 teaspoons of baking soda inside to absorb moisture and release odors.
- Cornstarch -- Sprinkle the insides of the shoes with a couple of teaspoons of cornstarch.
- Salt -- Soaking your feet for a few minutes in a tub filled with salt water, can prevent the feet from sweating which is one of the causes for foot odor.
- Vinegar -- Soaking your feet in an apple cider or plain vinegar for a number of times in a weeks helps fight foot odor.
- Ginger -- Mash a piece of ginger into a pulp, cover it in a handkerchief or a cloth and soak the handkerchief in some hot water for a few minutes. Rub the liquid onto your feet after a shower. Continue the process for a couple of weeks.
- Radish -- Radish juice with a quarter teaspoon of glycerin can reduce foot odor.
